Weaning the Lambs
All of our lambs are looking spry and healthy - that means it’s time to wean them off their mothers! The weaning process goes easy for us, although it brings a couple of days of loud sheep as they talk across the fences. Weaning lets the ewe’s have a much-needed break and gets the lambs ready to go to their appropriate pasture. Once weaned, we are also able to feed the lambs off of the richest part of the pasture alfalfa - helping them to grow fast and strong! Eventually, the rams will head off to hang out with Big Earl and the studs and the young ladies will head back to their mothers as a bit more independent sheep.
